Can the Belfast Safer Homes scheme help you?

Are you aged over 65 and live in the Belfast area?

Have you recently had a fall or worried about having a fall in your home?

The Belfast Safer Homes scheme can help!

Bryson Energy work in partnership with Belfast City Council, the Public Health Agency and the Belfast Trust to provide the Belfast Safer Homes scheme.   If you live in the Belfast City Council area and are aged over 65 (or a vulnerable adult at risk of falling) you are eligible to have a free home safety check. As part of this check a Home Safety Officer from Bryson Energy will visit your property and advise you on reducing the risk of accidents, slips, trips and falls in your home. We will also provide you with information on general home safety, energy advice and make onward referrals to Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service for a home fire safety check.  Householders may also be eligible for free equipment (including helping hand, shoehorn, sock aids and jar openers).

A reduced rate repair service is also available. Bryson’s qualified joiners can complete work including fitting handrails, replacing lightbulbs, fitting curtain poles and fixing flooring.  This service is £5 per hour for those in receipt of benefits and £15 per hour for those not.  Maximum 3 hours work per household.
